how do we know we are able to do something?

I interpret this as the professor saying that we must experience and try so many different things before really understanding why we want to do and who we want to be. We have to take risks and do things we don’t want to in order to understand ourselves. The most memorable time where this saying was implemented was when I first applied for the program that I am in. I honestly didn’t know what I wanted to do in cegep.
