In this article, we are presented the dilemma between a huge maple syrup producer and the small local maple producers. The Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers is the single owner of 77% of the world supply (as of 2011) of maple syrup. This as lead to many parties in Quebec to call it a mafia over the resource as presented by the National Post. Many people are fined and threaten over wanting to just locally sell maple syrup. All of this concludes with the idea that maple syrup will be a sickness that will affect many and maybe all maple harvester.
